On a visit to a site that will be used to store coronavirus vaccines, Health Ministry director-general Prof. Hezi Levy stressed that Israel is still seeking new sources of coronavirus vaccines, despite already having signed a number of contracts with companies from several countries."We're still In the look-out for more vaccines," he said, "and we're making progress. It's a complicated matter and we still have a long way to go," he stressed.

Speaking In Galei Tzahal today, MK Ayelet Shaked sharply criticized the government's handling of the coronavirus crisis, and specifically its policies regarding the aviation industry."Everything related to entering the country was messed up by the government. It took them six months to set up the coronavirus testing laboratory at Ben Gurion Airport, and yet, it's still possible to bypass a test by promising to go into isolation for two weeks," she alleged. "This is an absurd situation, and the result is that skies are effectively still closed."

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein told Galei Tzahal this morning that he expects Israel to have a significant supply of vaccines for coronavirus within the next five months."The first vaccines will be arriving at the beginning of 2021," he said, "but the supply won't be enough for a mass vaccination program - that will happen by March or April, I believe."Edelstein added that, "We're thinking about additional sources of vaccines In top of those companies with whom we have already signed contracts. We'll continue to do so until we see that the vaccine program is achieving what it should - it's certainly not enough to sign a contract with just Ine company, regardless of how prestigious."
