Violence in Amsterdam: Incident still not yet under control

<p>El Al announced that two flights are currently making their way to Amsterdam. The airline is expected to add more flights in the coming hours.</p><p>Israir is expected to send a flight to the Netherlands at around 11:00 a.m. this morning.</p>

<p>A 60-year-old man was moderately injured after his car collided with a pole in Be'er Sheva on Thursday night.</p><p>Magen David Adom paramedics gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to Soroka Hospital.</p>

<p>MK Almog Cohen (Otzma Yehudit) said that he spoke with Israel's Ambassador to the Netherlands, Ephraim Modi, who informed him that many police forces had been sent to the scenes of the violence.</p><p>"I call on the fans to stay in safe places and avoid risking their lives," Cohen wrote.</p>

<p>Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, said, “We are receiving very disturbing reports of extreme violence against Israelis and Jews on the streets of Holland. There is a pogrom currently taking place in Europe in 2024.”</p><p>“These are the true faces of the supporters of the radical terrorism we are fighting. The western world needs to wake up now!!”</p><p>“This is the time when the UN should immediately and clearly condemn the violence of the Palestinians and their supporters. The Dutch authorities must take decisive action against terrorism now,” stated Danon.</p>

<p>The Prime Minister's Office stated that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is aware of the details of the serious incident of violence in Amsterdam against Israeli citizens, conducted a situational assessment with the Foreign Minister and his military secretary, and is receiving regular updates."</p><p>"The Prime Minister ordered the immediate sending of two rescue planes to aid our citizens. The Prime Minister views the horrific incident very seriously, and demands that the Dutch government and the Dutch security forces act firmly and quickly against the rioters, and ensure the safety of our citizens."</p>

<p>National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir responded to the attacks in Amsterdam and said: "Fans who went to see a soccer game encountered antisemitism and were attacked with unimaginable cruelty just because of their Jewishness and Israeliness."</p><p>He added, "I condemn any attempt to make the victim guilty. This is not only an attack on Jews and Israelis, but a warning sign to all European countries against radical Muslim violence. Today the victims were Israelis, tomorrow it is you Europeans."</p>
