Israel approves Egyptian offer, which includes the release of five living hostages

<p>Associated Press reports on an Egyptian mediation initiative that includes the release of five live hostages, including Edan Alexander, in exchange for the return of humanitarian aid, a ceasefire of several weeks, and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.</p><p>According to the report, Hamas approved the proposal and Israel confirms that there is a proposal, but says that there are still large gaps.</p>

<p>The Palestinian Arab <i>Shehab </i>news agency reported two deaths and several injuries in an IDF airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.</p><p>Additionally, it was reported that the IDF conducted an airstrike in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern part of the Strip.</p>
